Die Maske trägt den Glanz staatlicher Selbstdarstellung, ein goldener Vorhang über den Ritualen politischer Inszenierung. Aus Propaganda wird Portrait; aus System wird Symbol. Batman erscheint als stiller Beobachter eines Reiches, das seine eigenen Helden erschuf. Ein Objekt voller Schwere und Ironie; eine Maske, die Macht nicht verhöhnt, sondern entlarvt.
